Most of the gap between where a student is and where the sixth form is asking for is a question-type problem, not a content one. The tutor takes recent mock papers, identifies the question types where marks are leaking (six-mark Maths problems, AO3 evaluation paragraphs in English, application questions in Sciences), and drills those specifically. Most students see the predicted grade move inside a half term of weekly sessions.
Yes, with separate Biology, Chemistry and Physics specialists. Triple Science students at the grammars tend to plateau on the six and nine-mark questions in one specific subject, not all three. We match a subject specialist for whichever Science is leaking marks, rather than asking one tutor to cover all three.
Year 10 is the better start if the gap is content-based, because there's time to rebuild without a clock running. Year 11 makes sense if the issue surfaces in November mocks, and most Wycombe families come to us in January or February ahead of March mocks. Both work. Earlier just means less pressure.
