Parent of A-Level Student
The A level tutoring made such a difference to my son, who had left studying until the final hour, managing to turn E and U grades into 3 C grades. Amazing.
By the time most Canterbury parents reach us, the Year 13 mock has come back and the predicted grade is sitting a band below the offer. Our Canterbury A-Level tutors find what's missing on the page (content, evaluation, exam-day pacing), then close the gap before predictions are submitted.

INSIDE A CANTERBURY YEAR 13 RECOVERY
A-Level results across Kent split into two stories. Some sixth forms run cohorts where strong results are the norm; others work harder against the predicted-grade clock. For a student arriving at their first session with a Year 13 mock that came back lower than hoped, the tutor reads the paper, marks it the way the exam board marks, and identifies whether the gap is content depth, AO3 evaluation chains, or running out of time on a 2h 30 paper.

My son gained almost two grades higher than his year 13 mock paper. His tutor was excellent.

The Degree Gap helped my child go from Cs to As. They have a great selection of tutors who not only assist with the curriculum but also helped with university choices and applications.

The Degree Gap has exceeded all my expectations. They have gone above and beyond to pair both my sons with the appropriate tutors, all of whom have been exceptional. Both my sons exceeded their expected grades in their GCSEs and A Levels and got into their first choice universities. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Get in touch and we'll connect you with the right A-Level tutor for your child. We'll ask a few questions about their subjects, year group, and exam board — and introduce you to a tutor who fits.
Most predicted-grade gaps turn on one subject. The tutor reads recent essays or papers from the subject in question, identifies whether the gap is content, evaluation chains or exam-day pacing, and then drills that question type weekly. Past papers, marked the way the exam board marks. Most students see the predicted grade move within six to eight weeks of consistent sessions.
Yes. Tutors cover Oxbridge subject interviews, Medicine MMI-style prep, plus UCAT and BMAT coaching for the candidates who need them. Most start in late Year 12 once subject choices are settled, so there's time to run mock interviews before the UCAS submission window closes.
Often, yes, especially if the recoverable gap is content (an organic mechanism, equilibrium calculations) rather than effort or interest. A tutor traces what's actually broken in the first one or two sessions, and then you've got a real basis for the decision rather than a hunch. We've worked with plenty of students who came in considering a drop and stayed on the subject.
From £37 an hour. The rate depends on the tutor's subject, level and seniority. A recent Russell Group graduate teaching their own A-Level subject sits at the entry rate; a senior academic or qualified examiner sits higher. We agree it with you before any session is booked, no contracts, no surprises.
